Vampires don’t wear polka dots… or do they?

Quick Stats:

Page Count: 80

Age Range: 7 and up

Genre: Fantasy

Year: 1991

Series: 51 books, but can be read as stand alone books

This is the first in a very long series of books that places 4 elementary school friends in situations where an adult may be a mythical creature. Each book follows the kids trying to prove that their teacher is a vampire, or camp counselor is a werewolf, etc. The stories are always resolved with somewhat open ends, because they never reach conclusive proof that the adult is that creature, before they normally leave town.

This series is great for reluctant and less proficient readers, because they are shorter reads and get right to the story without much set up. They’re also very good for kids who appreciate the silliness of all the different situations.
