Princess Anidorie (Ani for short) is sent away by her well-meaning mother to marry a prince in the neighboring kingdom. However, as Ani and her soldiers travel to his kingdom, a plot unfolds to kill Ani and have her evil lady-in-waiting take her place. Ani manages to escape her would-be killers, but is now without protection or even a name because the lady-in-waiting has taken her identity. With nothing, Ani takes a new name and a new job in the city tending the geese. Her new-found happiness does not last long though, the lady-in-waiting is looking for the former princess and wants her to disappear for good…

Everyone should read this book whether you are young or old. It is fantastically written and the story is a lovely remake of the old brothers Grimm story.
