In the 3rd book the Baudelaire orphans are sent to live with their aunt Josephine. Their aunt has developed many fears ove the years after her husband has passed. While out on a shopping trip they unfortunately run into Count Olaf, their nemesis dressed as a charming sailor. Aunt Josephine is blind sided by his charm and soon enough she’s stranded in a cove. The children must save her life by decoding her “suicide note,” and sailing through the storm on the infamous leech filled Lake Lachrymose. In the end Aunt Josephine is swallowed up by the leeches and the kids are once again on the move.

This book has an amazing array of descriptions, and uses dark vocabulary. Great book for all students who enjoy a little spookiness.
